Half of Africa’s population, over 600 million people, have little or no access to healthcare. Mercy Ships exists to fulfill this overwhelming deficit in desperate regions.

Volunteers aboard their hospital ships perform life-changing surgeries and train local professionals in vital medical procedures for continued care in their community. In their 42 years of operation, Mercy Ships have impacted over 2 million lives.

Generating Impact

Globally 5 billion people lack access to safe surgery. Since 50% of the world’s population lives near a coast, hospital ships can deliver advanced medical care removing barriers, and saving lives. Mercy Ships is changing healthcare and creating sustainable medical facilities for a lasting impact, and they need YOUR help!
